Today we have had a full morning of science! We've launched our new topic where we will be working in teams to SAVE MI SHELL (an egg named Mishell) by using parachutes and cars on ramps, using our knowledge of forces. Today we have investigated if the surface area of a parachute affects the speed at which it falls. It certainly does! We discovered that the greater the surface area, the slower the parachute falls because of more air resistance acting against gravity on the parachute, slowing it down. We are already considering how to apply this knowledge when we design and make our own parachutes to save Mishell!
Making survival kits!
Erupting volcanoes!
