We are a happy class of 28 children.

Our class teacher is  Mrs Nash and our teaching assistants are Mrs Portman and Mrs Standen.

Our final topic of the year is...

Keeping Healthy and The Deep.

 

In Literacy we will be focusing on:

  • Using our phonic knowledge to write and read simple sentences and stories;
  • Trying to form our letters with consistent sizing and on lines;
  • Reading and writing lots of 'tricky' words.

 

In Mathematics we will be focusing on:

  • Using and forming numbers to 20 and beyond;
  • Adding and subtracting numbers;
  • Saying one more than/one less than a given number up to 20;
  • Halving, sharing and doubling objects and numbers;
  • Exploring measures;
  • Exploring the properties of 2D and 3D shapes.

We will be exploring the changes that occur during springtime and how seeds grow.

In Literacy we will be focusing on:

We have loved sharing the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.

Last week we created story boards about the story and this week we are using the story boards to write our own version of the story.

  • Hearing sounds in words and writing the corresponding letter.

During mathematics we will:

  • Learn counting songs;
  • Learn how to count groups of objects carefully;
  • Recognise numbers and form them correctly.

  • Using our phonic knowledge to write labels, captions and lists;
  • Forming letters correctly; 
  • Reading simple and 'tricky' words.

 

In Mathematics we will be focusing on:

  • Recognising 2D/3D shapes and talking about their properties;
  • Measuring and ordering items by length and weight;
  • Exploring and using money.
