Class 3- Mrs Walker

Welcome to Class 3!

Home learning ideas - March 2020

I have updated some ideas for how you can continue to support your child at home.  Please do not feel under pressure to complete these, they are only suggestions.  It is a very confusing and uncertain time for the children at the moment and their mental health is so much more important than the activities that I have suggested.  However, I know many of you are keen to keep a routine and so I will try and keep the website updated each week.  I have tried to find games that the children will be able to play independently as I am aware that many of you are working from home.  The White Rose Maths home learning website is an excellent resource with a presentation and accompanying work.  If you would like to tweet or email me your child's work, I would love to see it.

Please also look on the home learning tab as there are some excellent ideas on there too.

And finally, as I often say, please keep reading with your child every day.  Remember it is important that they listen to stories as well as read them to you.

Homework

Homework will be sent home on a Friday and needs to be returned by the following Wednesday at the latest.  Spellings will be sent as part of the homework and will be tested on the following Wednesday.  We strongly encourage the children to read every day as well as listen to stories.

Spring Term

This term we will be learning all about plants and animals.  We will be learning about how to group animals and the different habitats that the animals live in.  We will be learning about what a plant needs to grow healthily and will be linking this with our artwork.

One of our texts this half term is Bog Baby.  We are looking forward to making some of our own Bog Babies, using our sewing skills!

We will continue to learn about the composer Vivaldi, and listen to 'Spring' from his well-known 'Four Seasons' in music and dance.
