What is the Sports Premium Funding?
The Sports Premium Funding is designed to help children get an active start in life, supporting primary schools to improve the quality of their PE and sport provision so that pupils experience the benefits of regular exercise – from becoming healthier both mentally and physically, to improved behaviour and better academic achievement. The funding is a ring-fenced grant for English primary schools to provide additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE, sport and physical activity. Allocations to schools are determined by a formula based on pupil numbers. During the 2020-2021 academic year, Darton Primary School received £18, 350.
Schools must evidence the spending of their funding and how it helps them to achieve 5 key indicators. The 5 key indicators are as follows:
The following document breaks down how Darton Primary School used the funding during the 2020-2021 school year and explains the impact of the funding in our school.
The following document breaks down how we plan to spend our funding during the 2021-2022 school year. We will continue to build on our work with Totally Runable to close the gender confidence gap in sport. Please note that this document will be updated throughout the year and the final report will be published in July 2021:
